The National Microbiology Laboratory MALDI-TOF Spectral Libraries (the NMSL) are mass spectrometer data libraries developed at the National Microbiology Laboratory to support our public health partners in the identification of rare, novel and high-consequence bacterial pathogens that may not be present in commercially available libraries.

Genomics Liaison Technical Officers (GLTO) have technical expertise in genomics and bioinformatics. GLTOs are integrated within provincial public health laboratories (PPHL) and work collaboratively with NMLB Programs in a decentralized, hub and spoke model. Consequently, the GLTO program enhance genomic surveillance capacity across Canada for joint provincial and federal public health priorities. The continuous support provided ensures the delivery of high quality and timely genomics data that have become a cornerstone for informed public health decision making in Canada.
